The Browns may not need tight end help with David Njoku and Jordan Akins on the roster, but Logan Thomas is a fascinating name to bring in for training camp.

Injuries ravaged Thomas' career over the last few seasons with the Washington Commanders.

Thomas probably is not close to his season-best numbers from 2020. He had 72 receptions, 670 yards and six touchdowns in that campaign.

However, if he is healthy, he could be a decent second or third option for the Browns offense across the middle.

Cleveland does not have a ton of big-bodied wide receivers, so the pressure is on Njoku to thrive across the middle.

Akins is used more in blocking and red-zone situations. There could still be a roster spot for him if Thomas is signed.

The Browns have to make sure Thomas' body will hold up for a season before taking a risk, even with a one-year contract.
